Overview

Position — Grades Teachers Needed for Sycamore Creek Community Charter School

Sycamore Creek Community Charter School is seeking compassionate, joyful, and collaborative teachers to join our vibrant faculty as a Grades Teacher. We currently have openings in elementary grades. We are looking for California credentialed teachers who have Waldorf training. We also encourage exceptional educators who are eager to embrace Waldorf pedagogy to apply.

Sycamore Creek Community Charter School is a WASC accredited Waldorf inspired Charter school that serves 230 children TK through eighth grade located in Cypress, California. Our school offers a comprehensive Waldorf curriculum that includes Spanish, Mandarin, games, handwork, music, and choir. We have a strong emphasis on the outdoors, arts, and community. We are eagerly looking for like minded individuals to join our teaching team.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and nurture young minds in a supportive and creative environment
• Maintain a calm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
• Create and uphold classroom rhythms, routines, and classroom rules/agreements
• Supervise children during outdoor play. Promote independent play, social-emotional development, peer relationships, and self-regulation skills
• Support students’ social emotional well-being throughout the day
• Be a part of a community that values collaboration, innovation, and lifelong learning
• Participate in ongoing professional development to deepen understanding of Waldorf principles and practices
• Foster an inclusive environment that promotes diversity, equity, and belonging
• Ensure student safety and follow all school policies and procedures

Qualications

• A valid California Teaching Credential
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting. Waldorf training preferred, or interest in, or familiarity with Waldorf education
• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Must pass a background check and TB assessment
