Job Description

St. Rose of Lima,an Independence Mission School, is seeking a Grades 3-8 Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

The Specials teacher should have a strong understanding of evidence - based age-appropriate curriculum and instructional strategies, enthusiasm for innovative practices, willingness to participate as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team, and possess the ability to adapt activities in order to incorporate the diverse strengths of students.

The successful candidate will:

  • Model outstanding character with a commitment to the moral formation of our students.

  • Set high behavioral and academic expectations for students.

  • Implement effective classroom management systems and maintain a positive, respectful, productive culture of learning.

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons to students at various skill levels, using data to inform instruction, and provide additional support or advanced challenges as needed.

  • Communicate with parents regularly about student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns.

  • Be an enthusiastic learner, committed to his or her own growth as an educator, who applies skills learned through coaching, grade level teamwork, and professional development

Experience:
  • Experience teaching or working with children in an educational setting (preferred).

  • Content aptitude and a passion for education.

  • A track record of leading students to successfully achieve academic and behavioral expectations.

Certification, Degrees, and Qualifications:
  • High School Degree (required)
  • Clearances on all required background checks (required)
