EMERY SAPP & SONS is seeking an experienced Motor Grader Operator for asphalt and road construction projects in Arkansas. You will operate motor grader equipment to grade and level surfaces, work with a crew to ensure quality, and support site preparation and grading efforts on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of heavy equipment experience in construction, the ability to read and interpret plans, and a commitment to safety and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Operate motor grader equipment to grade and level surfaces for roads, foundations, and other projects.
  • Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs as needed.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality.
  • Communicate with crew members and subcontractors to meet deadlines.
  • Identify and resolve issues during construction projects.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Motor Grader Operator to work on our asphalt projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating motor graders for road construction, site preparation, and grading projects. This person will work closely with other crew members to ensure that projects are completed to the highest level of quality.ResponsibilitiesOperate motor grader equipment to grade and level surfaces for roads, foundations, and other construction projects.Ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of qualityMaintain equipment and perform basic repairs as neededCommunicate regularly with other crew members and subcontractors to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budgetDevelop and maintain relationships with crew members and subcontractors to ensure that they are aware of project schedules and deadlinesEnsure that all equipment is properly maintained and that safety procedures are followed at all timesIdentify and resolve issues that arise during construction projectsOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment operation preferred3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment, with experience in a construction setting preferredAbility to read and interpret construction plans and specificationsStrong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiencesStrong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvementExperience with government contracts and compliance is a plusEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
