Job summary

Baranko Companies is seeking a Grade Checker to join the Baranko Brothers team in Dickinson, ND. You will monitor grade levels across projects, using GPS equipment and surveying tools to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.

The role involves collaboration with engineers and crews, performing topographic surveys, and maintaining staking and GPS gear. Ideal candidates have 2 years of Grade Checker or Equipment Operator experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Grade Checker or Equipment Operator preferred.
• Proficiency with surveying tools and equipment is a plus.
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and grading requirements preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform accurate calculations.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be comfortable with outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and comply with drug/alcohol policies.

Job description

As a Grade Checker, you will be an essential part of our Baranko Brothers team. Y ou will b e responsible for controlling and monitoring grade levels throughout various projects. Your work will be critical in maintaining project accuracy and ensuring that grading processes are executed according to specifications.

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Perform accurate grade and elevation checks using GPS Equipment
• Verify and document elevation and alignment of various construction elements, such as roadways, wellsite pads, building pads, and utilities.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction crews to ensure proper grading and accuracy of construction projects.
• Perform topographic surveys to generate quantity and production reports.
• Install and maintain stakes on projects to establish grades throughout construction.
• Set up and maintain GPS base, rover, and equipment kits throughout project duration.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and standards on construction sites.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years of experience as a Grade Checker or Equipment Operator preferred
• Proficiency with surveying tools and equipment is a plus
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and grading requirements preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform accurate calculations.
• Willing and able to walk several miles per day while installing stakes and/or conducting topographical surveys.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Must have a v alid driver's license
• Must be comfortable with outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to tasks.
• Must be open to performing a variety of tasks as assigned by Project Foreman or Superintendent, which may not be explicitly outlined in the job description. Flexibility and a positive attitude towards taking on new challenges are essential.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment.
• Must be 18 years or older to be considered for this position.
