• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity of the students.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals and communicates objectives to students.
• Employs diverse instructional techniques and media appropriate to students’ needs.
• Strives to implement the district’s educational philosophy and goals.
• Assesses student progress regularly and provides reports as required.
• Diagnoses student learning abilities and seeks district specialist assistance as needed.
• Protects students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Assists administration in implementing policies concerning student life and conduct.
• Makes provision for availability to students and parents outside instructional hours.
• Plans and supervises assignments for aides/volunteers and evaluates their performance.
• Maintains professional competence and attends staff meetings.

Education

Bachelor degree preferred.
