Cambridge Public Schools seeks an experienced Extended Term Substitute, Grade 4 Teacher for King School in Cambridge, MA. The position runs Sept 2026 through Nov 2027, with strong emphasis on bilingual education and culturally responsive instruction.

The successful candidate will plan, implement, and adapt curriculum per MA State Frameworks, collaborate with the 4th-grade team, and engage families to support student growth in a diverse learning environment.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts State Elementary 1-6 teacher certification and SEI Endorsement preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience teaching at the 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade level.
• Minimum of 3 years of full-time classroom instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teach all elementary subjects.
• Implement the Wayfinder SEL model.
• Collaborate closely with the other 4th-grade teacher.
• Collaborate with all team members, including special educators, instructional coaches, paraprofessionals, interventionists, and other support personnel.
• Incorporate a variety of assessment strategies to inform instruction and target intervention and enrichment needs.
• Integrate social-emotional learning to foster a safe, active learning community.
• Partner with families and include them in students’ learning and development.
• Other duties as assigned.
