Job summary

Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) seeks a dedicated K-12 teacher to plan, deliver and assess structured lessons in a school-based, in-person setting.

The role requires a Master's degree, state certification, and strong writing and communication skills. English and Spanish bilingual capacity is a plus. You will collaborate with colleagues, use instructional technology, attend meetings, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field is required.
• Experience teaching K-12 and certification/licensure requirements.
• Bilingual English/Spanish possible, with screener/training.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work with students, staff and parents in a professional manner.
• Knowledge of school safety and security procedures.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students in-person using lectures, discussions, visuals, and other teaching methods.
• Prepares lessons and outlines to cover material.
• Plans activities for balanced instruction with observation and inquiry.
• Administers various assessments to monitor student progress.
• Tutors students needing extra help and counsels on academic matters.
• Collaborates with teachers and administrators to develop and review curricula.
• Uses instructional technology and AV aids to enhance learning.
• Handles administrative duties like attendance and communications with parents.
