Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is seeking an Elementary School Teacher for Grade 1 to join our district. The position focuses on afternoon instruction and requires Minnesota K-6 or 1-6 Elementary Education licensure.

You will develop lesson plans, deliver inclusive instruction, and monitor student progress with collaboration from a supportive team. The role emphasizes adapting curriculum, maintaining classroom standards, and engaging families through multiple channels.

Qualifications

• Develop lesson plans aligned with District curriculum requirements.
• Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior for effective learning.
• Evaluate pupil progress and maintain timely records and progress reports.
• Identify pupil needs and develop strategies for IEPs.
• Communicate with parents via Schoology, newsletters, calls, emails, and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors in a fast-paced environment.
• Support administrators and staff in instructional planning and classroom management.
• Respond to emergencies and follow district policies.
• Plan and coordinate paraprofessional and volunteer work in the classroom and on field trips.
• Provide input to goal-setting for paraprofessionals.
• Integrate technology into instruction.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
• Participate in professional learning communities regularly.
