Job summary

Erie 1 BOCES is seeking an Elementary Teacher (Long-term Substitute, Grade 1) for the 2026-27 school year. The role reports to the Elementary School Principal and offers per diem pay for both certified and non-certified candidates.

The candidate will implement CSAT standards, collaborate across the team, differentiate instruction, and integrate technology to support student learning. Start date ASAP with a temporary appointment.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Bachelors in Education degree program and completed all required student teaching experiences.
• Must have at least two years of classroom experience with a satisfactory rating.
• Must have three (3) positive recommendations from professional individuals.
• Strong background in classroom instruction and pedagogical skills.
• Highly organized and independent worker with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
• PLC model experience (Professional Learning Communities).
• Superior skills to work with others and the ability of being a team player.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction using varied methodologies and curriculum resources to present material.
• Collaborate with team on curriculum planning, PD, and assessment design.
• Administer different forms of student assessments and communicate progress to parents.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners and manage classrooms.
• Integrate technology into instruction and professional activities.
• Serve as coach/mentor to other teachers on the team.
