Job summary

Amgen seeks a Grad Intern in Digital Product within Technology, AI & Data to help shape strategy, discovery and delivery of digital products that address meaningful scientific and business problems.

You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, data scientists and domain experts to turn complex needs into scalable product capabilities, while gaining hands-on experience and contributing to product roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications require 18+ years and a bachelor’s degree; current enrollment in an advanced degree program (MBA/Masters/PharmD/PhD) before internship starts.
• Preferred Qualifications include IT/CS/Engineering/Business coursework and at least 1 year relevant work experience; biotech/healthcare exposure is a plus.
• Proficiency in Word/Excel/PowerPoint; strong interpersonal, analytical and quantitative skills; coding knowledge (Python/Java/Scala/SQL) and ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to strategy, discovery and delivery of digital products; partner with product managers, engineers, designers, data scientists and domain experts.
• Translate needs into product artifacts: problem statements, personas, journey maps, user stories and backlog recommendations.
• Support end-to-end product delivery: backlog refinement, sprint planning, UAT, launch prep and post-launch learning.
• Use qualitative and quantitative data to assess product performance and identify improvements.
• Facilitate cross-functional sessions; communicate progress, risks and decisions clearly.
• Contribute to product roadmaps and strategic narratives linking user needs, business value and feasibility.

What You Will Do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. During this internship, you will acquire the valuable hands-on skills and foundational experience needed to become a professional in your chosen field.

In this role, you will contribute to the strategy, discovery, and delivery of digital products that solve meaningful business and scientific problems. You will partner with product managers, engineers, designers, data scientists, and domain experts to turn complex needs into valuable, scalable product capabilities. Responsibilities may include:

• Drive structured discovery for defined product opportunities by analyzing stakeholder needs, customer journeys, business processes, and relevant data
• Translate insights into product artifacts such as problem statements, personas, journey maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlog recommendations
• Support end-to-end product delivery activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, user acceptance testing, launch preparation, and post-launch learning
• Use qualitative and quantitative evidence to assess product performance, identify adoption or experience gaps, and recommend improvements
• Facilitate working sessions with cross-functional stakeholders and communicate product progress, risks, decisions, and recommendations clearly
• Contribute to product roadmaps and strategic narratives by connecting user needs, business value, technical feasibility, and measurable outcomes

Program Eligibility Requirements

• Must be available to work a full-time schedule.
• Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program / co-op
• Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program
• Must be available to accept and commit to future full-time employment by July 2028, if offered

Basic Qualifications:

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

• 18 years or older
• Graduated with a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
• Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Masters program for a Masters internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Masters OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications:

• In the process of completing the first year of a Masters program with concentration in Information Technology, Computer Science (e.g., CS, CPE, SE), Engineering, Business, or related field
• 1 or more years relevant work experience
• Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or health care industry experience
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
• Strong interpersonal, project management, analytical and quantitative skills
• Proficient in one of the coding languages (Python, Java, Scala, SQL)
• Detail oriented
• Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and resourcefulness
• Ability to operate independently, across functional lines, and with both internal and external customers
• Coursework in one or more of the following areas: Business Systems analysis, Lean, Agile (SCRUM) and other SDLC processes, Software Development, Database Modeling, Web Design and Development, IT Management, Management of Cloud based application, B2B Collaboration, Enterprise systems such as configuration and management of ERP, CRM systems

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $35.34 - $41.20 per hour.
