Job summary

BSI is seeking a GQA AI Regulatory & Certification Lead to provide regulatory leadership for AI certification globally. The role is Europe/UK/US homebased with travel, on a one-year fixed-term contract.

You will manage AI schemes, develop conformity assessment activities, and ensure compliant policies and documentation across regions. Key requirements include a BSc or higher in AI/engineering/IT or quality assurance, 4+ years in related areas (AI-focused), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BSc or higher in AI, engineering, information technology or quality assurance.
• At least four years of post-graduate experience in conformity assessment, quality management, software development, quality policy/regulation or standardization, with at least 1 year related to AI.
• Experience in AI lifecycle and regulatory aspects of AI products.
• Good interpersonal and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage AI notified body and AI certification body schemes globally within ISO17021/ISO17065/ISO17025 and EU AI Act.
• Lead development and maintenance of conformity assessment activities for AI providers and manufacturers.
• Ensure policies, procedures and documentation meet latest AI regulatory obligations.
• Ensure NB, AI Services and AIMS personnel maintain high expertise and rigour.
• Provide policy input on AI technical and management systems assessment and related schemes.
• Represent BSI in AI events, forums, and working groups.

About the role

Our Regulatory Services’ GQA team are looking for a GQA AI Regulatory & Certification Lead who provides regulatory & accreditation leadership to the BSI Artificial Intelligence certification body, notified body and quality management teams globally.

Responsibilities

• Managing AI notified body, AI certification body schemes globally within ISO17021/ISO17065/ISO17025 and other applicable accreditation and legislation requirements (e.g., EU AI Act, Medical Devices Regulation).
• Leading the development and maintenance of Conformity Assessment Activity to allow providers and manufacturers to demonstrate that their technology and processes conform to the provisions of EU AI Regulations, applicable standards, and global regulatory requirements.
• Ensuring that BSI has the relevant policies, procedures and documentation in place to meet all latest AI regulatory obligations
• Ensuring that NB, AI Services and AIMS personnel work is consistently at the required high level of expertise and rigour
• Providing policy, input and expertise on AI technical and AI management systems assessment and developing related certification schemes.
• Representing BSI in relevant AI events, forums, stakeholder engagement and working groups on AI.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

• BSc degree or higher in a discipline relevant toArtificial Intelligence, Engineering, InformationTechnology, Quality Assurance or equivalent
• At least four years’ post-graduateexperience in one of the following areas: conformity assessment, quality management, software development, quality policy/regulation, standardization development, 1 year of which related to AI.
• Experience in AI Lifecycle and Quality aspects, and Regulatory aspects of AIproducts
• Good interpersonal skills, particularlycommunication and influencing skills.

Netherlands: The salary for this position can range from€81,600 to €102,000 annually.

This is a remote position that can be based in the in Europe or the US. As compensation varies by country and local market conditions, salary details will be discussed with candidates prior to the interview stage.

Actual compensation is based onvarious factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisionalbudget,and internal peer compensation comparisons.
