Job summary

Apple's Compute Frameworks team in GPU, Graphics and Displays is seeking engineers to deliver robust compute solutions for accelerating machine learning networks on Apple Silicon.

The role offers opportunities to influence compute and programming models in next-gen GPU architectures, with focus on API design in Metal Performance Shaders and kernel-level optimizations across Apple hardware.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of GPU compute kernel experience.
• Experience with high performance parallel and GPU programming.
• Experience with system-level programming and computer architecture.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Add optimized GPU compute kernels across ML, image, linear algebra and vision.
• Define and implement APIs in Metal Performance Shaders.
• Analyze performance and optimize at kernel level across Apple hardware.
• Collaborate with Platform Architecture to shape compute hardware roadmap.
• Tune GPU-accelerated compute across products.
