Job summary

Baseten is seeking an hands-on Operations Manager to own the operational and analytical supply side of our GPU fleet. You will manage lifecycle, health, observability, utilization, and remediation across neocloud and bare metal environments to maximize GPU availability.

This role emphasizes process, metrics, reporting, vendor coordination, and cross-functional alignment rather than people management. You will drive execution with clarity and ownership, ensuring capacity gaps are closed.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in infrastructure managing compute lifecycle to maximize functional compute.
• Direct experience managing GPU, server, or data center supplier relationships.
• Highly analytical; comfortable pulling data, building reports, and generating insights.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and solving undefined problems.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with finance, infrastructure/engineering, legal, and security.

Responsibilities

• Drive suppliers to keep the maximum amount of the GPU fleet online and healthy.
• Maintain live reconciliation of contracted vs. provisioned vs. healthy vs. utilized capacity, broken out by supplier and by cluster.
• Own replacement SLAs, MTTR, and RMA cycle times for every in-scope supplier.
• Track SLA performance, file/ pursue credit claims, and drive remediation plans when needed.
• Coordinate internal communications to keep Baseten stakeholders informed of maintenance affecting availability.
