Job summary

Sciforium is seeking a Hardware Operations Engineer to own the physical health and foundation of our GPU clusters. You will manage data center coordination, rack and bring-up of new nodes, and ensure secure Linux environments for research and product workloads.

You will monitor hardware health, handle on-call responses, and liaise with vendors for maintenance and replacements while administering OS, network security, and directory services across the cluster.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Linux system administration with boot and disk management.
• Experience with high-density server hardware troubleshooting.
• Networking security and directory services experience (LDAP/AD).
• Bash scripting for automation.
• Experience with Ansible, SaltStack, or Terraform is a plus.

Responsibilities

• System Health & Hardware Reliability: On-Call Response for outages and hardware failures; monitor GPU/thermal/power metrics; coordinate RMAs and maintenance; lead hardware deployment for new GPU nodes.
• Linux & Network Administration: Install, patch, and maintain Linux OS across bare-metal servers; manage security and access (VPNs, firewall rules, SSH); manage LDAP/AD and storage mounts (NFS/GPFS/Lustre).
