Job summary

FAR.AI is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Lead to own the GPU cluster platform, set its technical direction, and work closely with researchers and other engineers. You will drive scaling, reliability, and security for our production infra, balancing research needs with robust operations.

You will hire and grow a small team, maintain cross-team collaboration, and contribute to a shared platform that accelerates frontier AI safety research.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in systems or infrastructure engineering on production Linux, with GPU/HPC.
• Experience leading engineers and managing project scopes.
• Proven Kubernetes experience for GPU workloads with batch systems.
• Infrastructure as code and observability using Terraform/Ansible, Helm, ArgoCD, Prometheus.
• Proficient programmer in Python/Go/Rust; write reusable engineering docs.

Responsibilities

• Set platform direction and own the roadmap for infra.
• Architect scheduling/storage across providers and monitor metrics.
• Hire and grow a small team of senior engineers.
• Set security direction for a shared GPU cluster.
• Define on-call, incident response, postmortems and fault tolerance.
• Serve as escalation point for research teams and providers.
