Job summary

Vinci4d seeks a software engineer operating at the intersection of computational solid mechanics, numerical methods, and high-performance computing. You will design, implement, and tune solvers for geometric and material nonlinearity, building production-grade code and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.

You will work on nonlinear solvers, FEM discretizations, GPU acceleration, and performance profiling in a collaborative, fast-moving team. Flexible work environment and equity participation offered.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of industry or research experience in computational mechanics, numerical simulation, or HPC.
  • Portfolio of work—open-source contributions, published code, or shipped products—that demonstrates the above.
  • Strong FEM foundation for solid/structural mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and tune nonlinear solvers for solid mechanics (large deformation, nonlinear constitutive models).
  • Build and optimize underlying linear algebra: iterative solvers and preconditioners.
  • Port and optimize solvers for GPU execution using CUDA/HIP/SYCL.
  • Implement FEM discretizations for structural and thermomechanical solves under challenging conditions.
  • Contribute to robust software engineering: VCS discipline, automated testing, CI/CD, code review.
  • Collaborate with domain experts to translate models into efficient implementations.
  • Profile and benchmark solver performance and eliminate bottlenecks.
