Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a skilled excavator/backhoe operator to support heavy civil projects in Texas. GPS experience preferred; operates hydraulic shovel mounted on tractor to dig trenches and move earth, gravel and materials.

Responsibilities include routine equipment maintenance, adherence to safety standards, and following job instructions. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and proper certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Moves hand and foot levers to control hydraulic shovel.
• Uses shovel to dig trenches and holes of specified length, depth and width, remove loosened material and put in piles or transport trucks.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning
