Job summary

Absolut center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in New York State is seeking a Graduate Practical Nurse (GPN) who has completed an accredited practical nursing program and is preparing for licensure as an LPN. The GPN will work under the direct supervision of an RN to provide essential nursing care and support treatment plans in a patient-focused setting.

Responsibilities include basic patient care, vital signs, wound care support, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam.
• Current CPR/BLS certification (often required).

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility assistance.
• Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
• Assist with wound care and simple medical procedures.
• Administer medications only as permitted under supervision and state guidelines.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to supervising RN.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Support infection control and safety protocols.
• Assist patients with daily living activities (ADLs).
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
