Qualifications

  • 3+ years of private or public sector experience working in government relations, public affairs, public policy, legislative affairs, political campaigns, corporate affairs, communications, project coordination, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; experience supporting government affairs or public policy is valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, track deadlines, organize information, and coordinate across stakeholders.

  • Assist with legislative and regulatory issue tracking by summarizing bill language and coordinating feedback.
  • Support internal government relations communications, including newsletter content and publishing updates.

Job description

You will report to Government Relations leadership and work out of our Washington, DC location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will supportHoneywell Technologies’ Government Relations team by coordinating government affairs projects, developing stakeholder and policy materials, supporting executive and external engagements, and maintaining the data, tools, and processes that help the team engage policymakers effectively. This role is designed to provide hands‑on support across federal, state, and international government relations priorities, including fact sheets, stakeholder mapping, internal communications, event preparation, onboarding resources, and issue‑tracking workstreams.

Responsibilities
  • Support development, review, and maintenance of government relations fact sheets, one‑pagers, and related advocacy materials, including coordination with business contacts, HR, communications, and Government Relations team members to gather and validate data.
  • Assist with U.S. state and country‑specific reporting by organizing data, tracking needed edits, coordinating updates with internal partners, and ensuring final materials are routed to the appropriate folders or reviewers.
  • Maintain project trackers, stakeholder maps, and internal reference tools to support Government Relations engagement planning and execution.
  • Support planning and execution of Government Relations events and external engagements, including invite tracking, attendance tracking, briefing materials, thank‑you notes, and follow‑up communications.
  • Prepare and coordinate briefing materials, shell memos, outreach drafts, and follow‑up correspondence for senior leader engagements, policymaker meetings, and external stakeholder interactions.
  • Assist with legislative and regulatory issue tracking by preparing side‑by‑side comparisons, summarizing bill language, coordinating feedback, and supporting policy recommendation development under Government Relations leadership direction.
  • Support internal Government Relations communications, including drafting newsletter content, coordinating approvals, working with branding or distribution‑list owners, and helping publish updates for the team.
  • Help improve Government Relations team processes by organizing SharePoint content, supporting onboarding resources, maintaining SOP/checklist materials, and coordinating with internal partners on process updates.
  • Coordinate across functions and team members, including Government Relations, HR, communications, legal, business unit contacts, consultants, and external affairs partners, to move projects forward and ensure materials are accurate and actionable.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 3+ years of private or public sector experience working in government relations, public affairs, public policy, legislative affairs, political campaigns, corporate affairs, communications, project coordination, or a related field.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to validate information across internal data sources, team inputs, and reviewer feedback.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional partners and maintain organized project files, trackers, and supporting documents.
  • Familiarity with the federal, state, or international policy process and the ability to summarize complex topics clearly.
  • Experience coordinating events, briefings, external engagements, or executive meeting preparation.
  • Strong organizational skills, including experience maintaining trackers, SharePoint folders, stakeholder lists, or internal operating procedures.
  • Ability to take initiative, follow up with stakeholders, and keep projects moving across a matrixed team environment.
  • Global and cultural awareness, with adaptability to learn business and government relations protocols across jurisdictions, navigate time zones, and tailor communication for diverse audiences.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented environment where priorities include policy materials, stakeholder engagement, events, reporting, and internal communications.

The annual base salary range for this position is $89,200-$111,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
