Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (MCAO) is accepting applications from lawyers for the newly enacted Government Law Admission Program (GLAP). Applicants must be licensed by bar examination in a U.S. state or territory that does not offer Arizona lawyers admission on motion, including Alabama, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Nevada, Rhode Island, South Carolina, WestVirginia, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, PuertoRico, and the Virgin Islands.
Candidates licensed in other jurisdictions must seek admission to the Arizona bar as described in Rule34, Rules of the Supreme Court of Arizona. To be eligible, applicants must meet all conditions outlined in the Arizona Supreme Court’s Administrative Order no.2025‑25. The GLAP lawyer must work in an approved position, specifically an attorney position with MCAO, and must eventually complete five (5) years of employment to qualify for full membership in the State Bar of Arizona.
Applicants hired into this position will work as a full‑time Prosecutor I, II, or III for a five‑year period. Employment will continue if the lawyer is fully admitted to practice law in Arizona under Rule34(f). Prosecutors hired at a level I receive a salary range of $82,250 to $106,375; levelII receive $102,000 to $144,500; levelIII receive $110,000 to $165,000. Salary offers are based on the candidate’s equivalent experience and internal equity within Maricopa County. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
