Job summary

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office of the Chief of Staff, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Government Information Specialist, you will: Process complex Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests by reviewing records, applying appropriate redactions, and determining the release or withholding of information in accordance with FOIA laws, regulations, and agency policies.

Prepare and coordinate FOIA responses and communications and provides guidance to requesters, agency staff, management officials, and other stakeholders regarding FOIA requirements and procedures. Provide FOIA technical assistance, training, and coordination to promote consistent application of FOIA policies, maintain compliance with statutory requirements, and support effective agency-wide FOIA operations.

Requirements & Education

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
