Citi is seeking a Governance Foundation Sr Analyst, Assistant Vice President in Getzville, NY. The role supports governance committees, develops governance tools, and tracks performance against strategic priorities.

The candidate will balance risk, ensure compliance, and coach junior staff while collaborating across Citi’s large organization. The position emphasizes data governance, controls, reporting, and influence over key governance outcomes and policy adherence.

Job Overview

The Governance Foundation Sr Analyst is responsible for contributing to the development of new techniques and improvement of processes and workflow. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization.

Responsibilities

• Support the operations of Citi's governance committees, including coordinating meetings, managing agendas, and ensuring follow-up on action items; and, provide analysis, governance, end-to-end management, and oversight for Governance Committees in adherence to Citi’s Policies, Standards, and Procedures
• Develop and maintain tools and processes to enable effective stakeholder management
• Tracks business unit performance against the submitted priorities/ goals; identifies gaps
• Contributes to and / or creates internal communications. Creates and prepares reports, metrics and presentations; exhibits sound understanding of concepts and principles in own area and a basic knowledge of concepts and principles in other areas.
• Applies comprehensive understanding of how multiple areas collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business goals
• Directly impacts the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams. Exhibits sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications

• 2+ plus years of experience in financial services with significant experience in Operational Risk is a must. Other risk and control disciplines would be a plus – credit, and market; with ability to effectively delineate items of importance and communicating outputs of such to governance forums
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast paced environment
• Proven results working across teams and boundaries, regardless of titles and roles, to deliver value to internal and external clients.
• Good understanding of Business Analysis and Project Management best practices preferred.
• Demonstrated analytical skills including root cause and trend analysis, with follow-up and problem-solving capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively problem solve
• Process re-engineering and improvement mindset with ability to identify and solve for root cause rather than symptoms; track record of problem-solving and approaching opportunities in a holistic way that breaks down organization silos
• Understanding of best-practice risk management techniques across the financial services industry
• Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large organizations, including a proactive and 'no surprises' approach
• History of proactively seeking opportunities to enhance and strengthen controls in a way that enhances risk management and oversight
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & SharePoint. Good understanding of Data Concepts and experience using Business Process Management, Reporting & Analytical Tools
