Job summary

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Deli Clerk to join our busy, customer-focused team in New York. You’ll help customers find the perfect deli items and share knowledge about gourmet products.

Responsibilities include slicing meats and cheeses, making salads and sandwiches, keeping the counter pristine, and following all safety procedures. Prior deli or food service experience is preferred, with strong English communication and a passion for excellent service.

Qualifications

• Experience in deli or food service, including slicing meats/cheeses and making salads.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Friendly, customer-focused, and passionate about providing excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Take and fulfill deli orders accurately and with a smile.
• Slice and prepare meats, cheeses, and other deli items to Uncle G’s high standards.
• Make delicious deli salads, sandwiches, and other prepared foods.
• Keep your counter, equipment, and work area clean, organized, and inviting.
• Stock and rotate products to ensure freshness and quality.
• Help with inventory counts, labeling, and packaging as needed.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service, answering questions and guiding customers.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and operational procedures.
• Support your teammates and help the deli run smoothly every day.
