Job summary

TCI Works in Rocky Mount, NC is seeking a friendly part-time deli associate to greet customers, assist with product selection, and prepare sandwiches, salads and other deli items according to established guidelines. You will slice meats and cheeses with proper training, restock displays, keep the area clean, follow health and safety procedures, and work cooperatively with teammates.

This role requires reliability, punctuality, and the ability to stand for long periods.

Job description

Helps to provide excellent customer service and supports daily deli operations. Greet customers and provide friendly service: assist customers in selecting deli products, prepare and package sandwiches, salads, and other deli items according to instructions, slice meats and chesses using deli equipment after proper training, label and display products neatly and accurately, restock shelves, coolers, and display cases, maintain a clean and organized work area, clean and sanitize public restrooms according to established health and safety procedures, including replenishing supplies as needed. Follow food safety, sanitation and workplace safety procedures. Assist with cleaning tasks such as wiping counters, sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and washing utensils, work cooperatively with team members and supervisors, notify a supervisor when supplies are low or when assistance is needed, ability to use cleaning supplies and equipment safely, with training and reasonable accommodations as needed, ability to perform cleaning tasks, including sweeping, moping and restroom sanitation, with or without reasonable accommodations. Individuals must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, ability to communicate respectfully with customers and coworkers. Work environment consists of fast paced gourmet deli setting regular interaction with customers and team members, exposure to food preparation equipment and refrigerated storage areas. Dependable and punctual is a must, ability to stand for extended periods with reasonable accommodation if needed, ability to lift, carry or move items up to 20 pounds with or without accommodation.
