Job summary

Slalom is seeking a Data Engineer for its Google COE to design and build enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud Platform. You will migrate, modernize, and implement real-time and batch pipelines, enabling governed analytics and AI-ready data foundations.

You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with clients and Slalom teams, delivering scalable cloud-native data solutions with a focus on BigQuery, Dataplex, and related services.

Qualifications

• Experience with Google Cloud data services and modern data platforms.
• Proficiency with Python, Java, and SQL.
• Experience building batch and real-time data pipelines on cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and modernize enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Batch and real-time data engineering, including scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using modern cloud-native architectures.
• Modern data platformsbuilt on Google Cloud, including data lakes,lakehouses, and enterprise data warehouses.
• Streaming data platformsfor real-time ingestion, event-driven architectures, and analytics.
• Data integration and orchestrationusing modern workflow and pipeline automation tools.
• Data platform modernization and migration, helping clients transition legacy data environments to Google Cloud.
• AI-ready data foundations, ensuring high-quality, governed, and scalable data to support advanced analytics and generative AI use cases.

As a Data Engineer in Slalom's Google COE, you will work in collaborative teams to design, build, and modernize enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will deliver solutions using BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Looker, and other Google Cloud services. You will help clients migrate and modernize data estates, implement real-time and batch pipelines, enable governed analytics, and accelerate AI-ready data foundations.

You will be engaged to participate in design sessions and be responsible for the timely completion of development items assigned to you in a project backlog.

*You will work in a hybrid environment, with expectation to be in-person with Slalom teams and clients as needed.

*You also must be within commutable distance to one of Slalom's listed office locations.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.The base salary pay range is $100,000 - $115,000 for Consultant, depending on experience. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
