Job description

Overview

As a Google Cloud Solution Architect, you act as a trusted advisor and consultant to DevOps teams, helping them design, implement, and operate secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. You support teams throughout their cloud adoption journey by co-designing architectures, sharing best practices, aligning on delivery milestones, promoting cloud cost awareness, and developing Proofs of Concept (POCs) and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to accelerate innovation and validate technology choices. This role is part of the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), whose mission is to provide a scalable, secure, reliable, and automated cloud platform that enables efficient and sustainable cloud adoption across ASML. The CCoE drives business value through cloud innovation, operational excellence, governance, and risk management.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise for cloud adoption initiatives, with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and secondary support for Microsoft Azure.
  • Guide DevOps teams in designing and implementing ASML-compliant, secure, scalable, and maintainable cloud architectures.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and consulting partner throughout the cloud adoption lifecycle, helping teams overcome technical and organizational challenges.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for DevOps teams and represent the Cloud Center of Excellence as a cloud ambassador.
  • Promote FinOps practices and educate teams on cloud cost optimization, governance, and efficient resource utilization.
  • Evaluate, test, and adopt emerging cloud technologies, providing hands‑on support where required to validate solutions or accelerate implementation.
  • Identify platform or service gaps and collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to continuously improve the cloud experience.
  • Design and review architectures for cloud‑native, hybrid‑cloud, and data‑driven solutions.
  • Enable infrastructure automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Produce and maintain solution architecture documentation, design decisions, implementation guidelines, and operational runbooks.
  • Design, develop, and support AI‑driven solutions, including copilots, intelligent assistants, and automation capabilities that enhance productivity and knowledge sharing across CCoE and its customers.
  • Contribute to cloud governance, security, compliance, and operational excellence initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cloud Solution Architect, Cloud Architect, or similar role.
  • Proven experience working within large, international organizations or global service delivery environments.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is required; Microsoft Azure experience is highly desirable.
  • Hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and operating GCP infrastructure services, including Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), VPC Networking, Cloud Storage, IAM, and security services.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing platform services on GCP, including Cloud Run, App Engine, Cloud SQL, Firestore, Bigtable, BigQuery, and Dataproc.
  • Experience implementing modern CI/CD solutions using Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy, GitHub, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, microservices, and container platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security, networking, identity management, and governance principles.
  • Experience with modern data platforms, data integration patterns, and cloud-based analytics solutions.
  • Engineering and software development experience within Agile and DevOps environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across infrastructure, platform, and application layers.
  • Experience designing and implementing AI solutions, including generative AI platforms, copilots, agents, and knowledge-assistant solutions.
  • Strong customer orientation with excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Self‑motivated and capable of operating independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Recognized subject matter expert with a collaborative mindset and passion for knowledge sharing.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to influence cross‑functional teams without formal authority.
  • Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Passion for innovation, continuous learning, and adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable, and sustainable cloud solutions.
