Job summary

Twice in Naples, FL seeks a personable Seasonal Golf Shop Counter Assistant to greet members, manage tee times, and assist with merchandise and transactions at our golf shop. This is a part-time seasonal role with focus on friendly service, technology use, and member engagement.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable behind a computer, behind the counter, and assisting members with everything from booking tee times to selecting apparel or accessories.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of golf and golf shop operations.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable interacting with members of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Experience with POS systems, tee sheet software, or golf management software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and provide friendly, professional service to members and guests entering the golf shop.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously, directing calls and assisting with questions whenever possible.
  • Schedule, modify, and assist members with tee times using Chelsea tee sheet system.
  • Assist members with accessing and navigating the club's online Chelsea tee sheet and related golf technology.
  • Assist with tournament registrations, check-ins, and other golf-related events.
  • Operate the golf shop's POS system accurately and efficiently, including processing sales, payments, returns, and exchanges.
  • Maintain familiarity with golf shop merchandise and actively promote and recommend products to members.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, accessories, and general golf products to assist purchasing decisions.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the golf professional staff as needed.
  • Assist members with questions regarding golf shop policies, tee times, tournaments, events, and other golf-related services.
  • Perform other duties related to golf shop operations as assigned.

Overview

We are seeking a personable, dependable, and service-oriented Seasonal Golf Shop Counter Assistant to join our golf shop team during the golf season. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with members, has a strong knowledge of golf, is comfortable working with computers and technology, and takes pride in providing excellent customer service.

The Golf Shop Counter Assistant will serve as an important point of contact for members and guests, assisting with tee times, tournaments, merchandise, point-of-sale transactions, and general golf shop operations. The ideal candidate is friendly and approachable, communicates professionally, learns new computer systems quickly, and is comfortable taking initiative to assist members with their needs.

Key Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys golf and enjoys working with people. They should be comfortable behind a computer as well as behind the golf shop counter, and should have the confidence to assist members with everything from booking a tee time to selecting a new golf shirt or accessory.

A successful candidate will be friendly, proactive, technologically capable, sales-minded, and service-oriented, with a willingness to learn the club's systems and become a reliable resource for members.

Schedule

This is a seasonal, part-time position averaging 2-3 days per week, with employment expected to run approximately October/November through May. Scheduling will be based on golf shop needs and may include weekdays, weekends, and occasional holidays or special events.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform routine golf shop and retail duties, including stocking and organizing merchandise.
  • Ability to lift and carry light-to-moderate items as needed.
Compensation

Starting at $16/hr, with pay increasing based on experience and qualifications.
