Job summary

South Suburban Parks and Recreation is seeking a Golf Maintenance Worker to perform day-to-day golf course maintenance and grounds duties. The role involves mowing greens, tees, roughs, raking traps, repairing divots, edging, and landscape care while ensuring a clean and safe course for players.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, strong verbal communication skills, and a willingness to work outdoors with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be sixteen (16) years of age.
• Knowledge of methods, tools and practices to maintain greens, fairways, bunkers and other golf course areas (preferred).
• Effective verbal communication to interact with staff and the public.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain greens, fairways, tees, roughs; rake traps and repair divots.
• Edge and trim traps, landscape areas, and perform hand trimming.
• Pull weeds, pick up trash, and participate in small projects as needed.
• Operate and care for equipment and hand tools; respond to routine maintenance tasks.
• Provide courteous customer service and address basic inquiries.

$16.40 - $20.90 per hour

The Golf Maintenance Workeris responsible for the day-to-day golf course maintenance duties andfacility grounds which includes maintaining the golf course, rakingtraps, mowing greens, mowing tees, mowing roughs, repairing divots,edging traps, push mowing landscape areas, hand trimming, pullingweeds, picking up trash, and participating in small projects when needed.

• Will have knowledge of methods, tools and practices to constructand maintain greens, fairways, trees and shrubs, bunkers and otheraspects of a golf course maintenance preferred.
• Must possess effective verbal communication to establish andmaintain working relationships with employees and the public.
• Must be highly motivated and take direction well with excellentinterpersonal and communication skills.
• Will provide superior customer service and resolve customercomplaints and escalated problems.
• Will have the ability to work productively without supervisionwithin established policies and procedures.
• Will have knowledge of how to play the game of golf and understandhow job performance affects the operations of the golf course andknowledge of the use and operating standards of equipment and hand tools.
