Job summary

The City of Moorhead is seeking a Golf Course Technician at Village Green Golf Course in the Public Works Department. The role supervises staff and handles golf course maintenance, irrigation, and related duties year‑round with winter snow duties.

Ideal candidates will have turf maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and Minnesota pesticide applicator certification within 3 months of hire. The position offers a competitive wage and benefits with annual pay increases per the union

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Associates/Technical degree preferred.
• One year experience in turf maintenance, or irrigation systems or related field.
• Minnesota Certified Pesticide Applicator License within 3 months of hire (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Assigns duties and oversees work of seasonal employees.
• Operates equipment such as greens, fairway and rough mowers, carts and sprayers.
• Maintains irrigation systems and records for chemicals and fertilizers.
• Repairs turf maintenance equipment and installs irrigation and drainage fields.
• Operates snow plowing and ice control equipment during winter months.
