Job summary

Sandia Golf Club in Albuquerque, NM, part of Troon, seeks a Full-Time Golf Course Superintendent to lead course maintenance, budgeting, and staff development. The role focuses on turf management, safety, and regulatory compliance to ensure an exceptional member and guest experience.

Ideal candidate has agronomy or horticulture background with 2–5 years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Competitive pay up to $120,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and two to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, or plant/soil science.
• Valid driver's license required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans
• Plans, organizes, and directs the maintenance and construction of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers
• Supervises the planting and cultural practices involved in growing various turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants
• Ensures that maintenance equipment is properly maintained
• Procur2es supplies and materials within budgetary limitations
• Keeps records of annual maintenance activities and costs; prepares reports
• Implements sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors when possible
• Reconciles and provides timely coding of all invoices, payroll, and other required documents
• Coordinates snow removal (depending upon facility location)
• Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with government regulations
• Ensures proper mixing, calibration, and application of all chemicals and fertilizers used on the course

Sandia Golf Club, located in Albuquerque, NM, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Golf Course Superintendent! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Pay: Up to $120,000.00 (Depending on Experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans
• Plans, organizes, and directs the maintenance and construction of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers
• Supervises the planting and cultural practices involved in growing various turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants
• Ensures that maintenance equipment is properly maintained
• Procures supplies and materials within budgetary limitations
• Keeps records of annual maintenance activities and costs; prepares reports
• Implements sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors when possible
• Reconciles and provides timely coding of all invoices, payroll, and other required documents
• Coordinates snow removal (depending upon facility location)
• Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with government regulations
• Ensures that they and all associates obtain proper training and/or licenses needed to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations; directly addresses all real or perceived environmental concerns
• Ensures proper mixing, calibration, and application of all chemicals and fertilizers used on the course
• Manages department members that may include, but are not limited to: Assistant Superintendent, 2nd Assistant Superintendent, Head Mechanic, Environmental Technician, Equipment Operator, Foreman, Greenskeeper, and Irrigation Technician
• Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate; develops ongoing training programs
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
