Job summary

Trophy Lake Golf & Casting is seeking a Mechanic to maintain and repair turf equipment and related systems in a golf course setting in Port Orchard, WA. You will support the club house and maintenance facilities with electronics, golf carts, and other equipment while ensuring safety and reliability.

The role involves proactive preventive maintenance, on-course support, and adherence to owner manuals. Applicants should be comfortable with lifting up to 50 pounds and working weekends/holidays as

Job description

As the Mechanic at Trophy Lake Golf & Casting, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all equipment and machinery in the turf department and related areas (pump stations, maintenance facility, etc.) as well as providing support to the property (club house & recreation center) in areas of related expertise (i.e., golf carts, electronics, etc.). This includes meeting established safety standards and adherence to the respective equipment owner’s manual specifications to maintain the proper working order and longevity of all equipment and machinery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be knowledgeable and capable of operating all equipment and machinery utilized by the turf department including tools and machinery needed to make related repairs or routine maintenance.
• Must be proactive in implementing and logging preventative maintenance programs for all equipment in the turf department.
• Must be capable of diagnosing and making informed repairs and/or maintenance of, but not limited to:
  • engines
  • tractors (gas & diesel)
  • hydraulics
  • electronics
  • tools or equipment (i.e., blowers, weed eaters, chain saws, reels, bed-knives, etc.)
• Ensures safe work environment to include compliance with OSHA/WISHA guidelines and proper operating usage of equipment as defined in related owner’s manual specifications.
• Assists in the training of team members for proper use of equipment & machinery.
• Implements methods and procedures designed to minimize operational costs and maximize resources to insure the proper working order and longevity of each piece of equipment.
• Timely completion of repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure golf course quality standards are achieved.
• Ensures daily a.m. set up of all turf equipment.
• Daily communication with the golf course superintendent regarding the status and condition of all turf equipment.
• Ability to make fabrications or alterations to new or existing equipment to insure proper working order and efficiency.
• Maintain adequate inventory levels of parts and supplies including fuel and oil levels.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• On course assistance to insure proper working order of all equipment.
• Daily implementation & adherence to Oki Golf universal standards.
• Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Thorough understanding and ability to operate all pieces of turf equipment.
• Thorough understanding for mechanical operations of engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
• Basic understanding of irrigation systems and components related to best practices in consideration of agronomics.
• Ability to follow company policy/procedures, complying with all administrative responsibilities.

• Lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp and use arm-hand coordination on a consistent basis

• Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.
• Be able to work weekends and holidays, mornings, and evenings as business demands.

COMPENSATION DETAILS:

• Offered rate of pay range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
• Eligible for overtime
