Job summary

The Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Golf Course Maintenance / Turf Care Technician to maintain greens, tees, fairways, and related areas. You will assist with irrigation, drainage, and routine course upkeep while working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

We value a can-do attitude, teamwork, and reliability; experience in golf course maintenance is preferred. This full-time role requires early mornings and adaptability to varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Experience in golf course maintenance preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Turf Care: mowing greens, tees, fairways; trimming, watering, fertilizing, aerating, drainage, and sodding.
  • Bunker Maintenance: raking, edging, rototilling, sand depth inspections, sand redistribution.
  • Course Setup: hole locations, tee markers, ball washers, divot repairs, debris cleanup.
  • Equipment Operation: safe use of mowers, blowers, trimmers, utility vehicles, chainsaws.
  • General Maintenance: pruning, cleaning facilities, litter collection; basic irrigation upkeep.
  • Equipment Care: fueling, cleaning, basic maintenance, reporting issues.
  • Safety & Compliance: follow safety protocols and chemical handling as directed.

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This position reports to the Assistant Superintendents, Course Superintendent, and Director of Golf Courses & Grounds Maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess a can-do attitude, be energetic, and unhesitatingly embrace teamwork mentality. He or she will also be highly motivated, detail-oriented, passionate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Turf Care: mowing (greens, tees, fairways, roughs), trimming, watering, fertilizing, aerating, drainage, and sodding
  • Bunker Maintenance: raking, edging, rototilling, plate tamping, addition of sand, sand depth inspections, sand redistribution
  • Course Setup: changing hole locations, setting tee markers, filling ball washers, repairing divots, and cleaning debris
  • Equipment Operation: safely operating mowers (riding/walking), blowers, string trimmers, utility vehicles, and chainsaws
  • General Maintenance: trimming trees/bushes, cleaning facilities, collecting litter, and basic irrigation system upkeep
  • Equipment Care: fueling, cleaning, performing basic maintenance, and reporting equipment issues
  • Safety & Compliance: following safety protocols, applying chemicals (as directed), and maintaining records
OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES

Because of the fluctuating demands of the club's operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed. Our goal will always be to do what is right to assist Members, guests and other employees to maximize the success and enjoyment of the Club.

DIMENSIONS
WORK EXPERIENCE:

Previous work experience in the golf course maintenance industry is preferred but not required

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE

Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Member/Guest satisfaction oriented with ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work tasks are performed predominantly outdoors and involve physical strength, endurance, and manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
  • Requires walking and standing for long periods of time. The duration of time will vary depending on the specific task being accomplished
  • Must be able to exert and lift more than 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather

  • Reports Directly To: Assistant Superintendents, Course Superintendent, Director of Golf Courses & Grounds Maintenance
