Job summary

Pinehurst, the cradle of American golf, seeks a Golf Course Intern for the Main Golf Shop to support day-to-day operations during the seasonal period. You will help set up tee markers, maintain the course, and assist with amenities to ensure a premier guest experience.

Strong focus on safety and golf etiquette in a high-activity environment is essential. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and be enrolled in a 2- or 4-year program for Agronomy Turf Grass Management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required and enrolled in a 2 year or 4 year program for Agronomy Turf Grass Management.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and operate Mowers and hand tools.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and golf etiquette in a dynamic outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

• Course setup duties including tee marker positions and hole locations; litter and waste removal; maintenance of course amenities.
• Mowing and grooming to maintain playability and high-quality appearance; operate walking and riding equipment.
• Hand watering turf, moving hoses, and performing dig, rake and divot repair to keep turf healthy and presentable.

SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is day-to-day operations to maintain golf courses.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required and enrolled in a 2 year or 4 year program for Agronomy Turf Grass Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Course set up duties to present proper tee marker positions and hole locations. Set up duties also involve litter and waste removal, ball washer maintenance and general care and upkeep of course amenities.
• Mowing and grooming; keep up playability and high quality appearance. Walking and riding equipment.
• Hand water turf; requires moving hoses manually and recognizing wilt conditions. This task is essential to keeping healthy turf.
• Hand labor; including raking, shoveling, pushing and divot repair to groom the course
