Oldfield Club in Oaktie, SC, seeks a full-time Golf Course Equipment Operator to assist with daily maintenance and presentation of the course, gaining experience operating a variety of turf and maintenance equipment.

Join Troon’s agronomy team, learn mowing techniques for greens, tees, fairways, and roughs, and develop skills while contributing to a high‑standard course for members and guests. Training is provided with opportunities to take on more specialized equipment and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in golf course maintenance is helpful but not required.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills in agronomy and specialized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate handheld equipment including weed eaters, edgers, backpack blowers, and other small-engine equipment.
• Assist with daily mowing and maintenance of the golf course.
• Operate walking and riding equipment to mow greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
• Learn mowing techniques to maintain turf quality and playing conditions.
• Assist with course setup, detail work, cleanup, and daily maintenance responsibilities.
• Perform general landscape and golf course maintenance duties as assigned.
• Maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
• Follow all safety procedures and proper equipment operating practices.
• Work as part of a team to maintain the golf course to a high standard for our members and guests.

Oldfield Club, located in Oaktie, SC, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Golf Course Equipment Operator! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. The Equipment Operator will assist with the daily maintenance and presentation of the golf course while gaining experience operating a variety of specialized turf and maintenance equipment.

Position Responsibilities

• Operate handheld equipment including weed eaters, edgers, backpack blowers, and other small-engine equipment.
  
• Assist with daily mowing and maintenance of the golf course.
  
• Properly trained to operate specialized walking and riding equipment used to mow greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
  
• Learn proper mowing techniques and equipment operation to maintain consistent turf quality and playing conditions.
  
• Assist with course setup, detail work, cleanup, and other daily maintenance responsibilities.
  
• Perform general landscape and golf course maintenance duties as assigned.
  
• Maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
  
• Follow all safety procedures and proper equipment operating practices.
• Work as part of a team to maintain the golf course to a high standard for our members and guests.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and pride in their work. Previous golf course maintenance experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right individual who is motivated to learn and develop their skills.
