Job summary

Channahon Park District is seeking a general worker to assist at the clubhouse and surrounding areas, support the starter when needed, and perform tasks for clubhouse and kitchen staff. This on-site role requires reliability and ability to work with others.

You will help maintain the practice range, wash range balls, manage equipment, and perform janitorial and groundskeeping duties while adhering to safety policies and dress code.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
• Must be dependable, have good safety habits, follow directions, and work well with fellow employees.
• Exposed to widely varying outdoor weather conditions.
• May have to lift objects weighing more than 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive community image for the District.
• Strive to maintain a positive environment among the District’s divisions.
• Support safety policy and loss control program for staff and patrons.
• Maintain the practice range and adjacent areas.
• Wash range balls and turn off spigots afterward.
• Picks up empty range buckets.
• Ensure patrons stay within designated hitting areas.
• Check patrons’ safety at all times.
• Wash cars, check gas in service vehicles, ensure washers are off.
• Check water in club cleaners.
• Picks up garbage and debris around clubhouse and parking lot.
• Lock outside cars and basement at end of night.
• Report all broken equipment.
• Dust, vacuum, and clean golf shop as needed.
• Move umbrellas and chairs from patio.
• Perform other duties as directed; attend meetings and trainings.

General Statement of Position

To be a general worker at and around the clubhouse, to help Starter when needed, and perform all requested tasks for clubhouse and kitchen staffs.

Representative Essential Job Functions

• Maintains a positive community image for the District.
• Strives to maintain a positive environment among the District’s organizational divisions.
• Actively supports the Safety Policy and the District’s established loss control program including training, safety rules, and developing ideas for the prevention of incidents, while providing a safe environment for Park District staff members and patrons.
• Maintains the practice range and adjacent areas.
• Washes range balls and turns off spigot afterwards.
• Picks up empty range buckets.
• Ensures patrons remain between the ropes or designated hitting areas.
• Checks for all patrons’ safety at all times.
• Washes cars and checks for gas every day in the beverage, range picker, and player assistance cars and ensures all washers are turned off afterwards.
• Checks water in club cleaners.
• Picks up garbage and debris around clubhouse and parking lot.
• Cables and locks outside cars and lock basement at the end of the night.
• Reports all broken equipment.

Representative Marginal Job Functions

• Dusts, vacuums, empties garbage cans, and cleans golf shop.
• Moves umbrellas and chairs from patio at the end of the day.
• Performs other duties relating to the position as directed or delegated
• Attends meetings, training sessions and seminars as assigned
