Job summary

DeKalb Park District is seeking a Golf Cart Attendant in DeKalb, IL 60115 for the River Heights and Buena Vista courses. The position is seasonal and non-exempt, with pay of $15.00–$16.00 per hour.

The attendant cleans, fuels, and stages carts, conducts safety inspections, and assists with cart movement for tournaments and events while maintaining a safe environment for staff and patrons. Must be 16+ and hold a valid Illinois driver's license.

Position Description

DEPARTMENT: Golf Course Operations

TITLE: Golf Cart Attendant

CLASSIFICATION: Seasonal, Non-Exempt

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Golf Cart Attendant shall be responsible for the cleaning, fueling, and staging of golf carts to assist in operations of the Golf Shop at River Heights and Buena Vista Golf Courses and assists in other areas as required.

PAY RANGE: $15.00/hour - $16.00/hour

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Golf Clubhouse Operations Manager

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Clean, fuel, and stage golf carts on a routine and as-needed basis to support golf clubhouse operations.
  • Responsible for the safety inspection and cleanliness of the golf cart fleet and log/report any necessary repairs to the Golf Clubhouse Operations Manager or Golf Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Assist in staging carts for tournaments, outings, and special events as required.
  • Works to provide a safe environment for both staff and patrons.
PERIPHERAL DUTIES
  • Assist in outing and event preparations such as placing hole signage, tents, and proximity markers on the golf course.
  • Assist clubhouse staff with janitorial duties when requested.
  • Periodically assist with tee box clean up to include picking up tees and repairing divots in the turf.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near people playing golf, high pressure irrigation, pressure washers, pumps and motors, high voltage, mowing and construction equipment, motorized golf carts, hydraulics under pressure, fuel, oils, cleaning products, etc. The employee may be exposed to fertilizers and pesticides used in the operation of a golf course. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.
