Credit Union of the Rockies is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager in Golden to lead our branch team as a working-manager. You will hit personal goals while helping the team reach theirs, mentor Universal Service Specialists, and serve as a trusted contact for members with complex needs.

You will support the Branch Manager in daily operations, drive branch performance, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive branch performance: help set and reach goals, track metrics, and coach for improvement.
  • Support lending: assist with loan applications, closes, and member guidance.
  • Solve problems: act as escalation point for complex member issues with professionalism.
  • Manage risk and operations: cash handling, audits, vault and ATM checks, and reconciliation.
  • Help keep the branch secure: coordinate opening/closing procedures and security.
  • Grow the team: participate in interviews and recruitment.
  • Stay compliant: follow credit union policies and applicable regulations including BSA/USA PATRIOT Act.

Join Our Team

Credit Union of the Rockies is looking for a motivated Assistant Branch Manager to help lead our Golden Branch team. If you're a hands-on leader who loves coaching people, solving problems, and building real relationships with members, this role is for you.

As ABM, you'll be a working-manager; someone who hits their own goals and helps the team hit theirs. You'll support the Branch Manager in day‑to‑day operations, mentor our Universal Service Specialists, support our Member Relationship Specialists (call center), and be a trusted point of contact for members with more complex needs.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the service team. Train, schedule, and support Universal Service Specialist and Member Relationship Specialist staff, ensuring the branch runs smoothly and members get great service every time.
  • Drive branch performance. Help set and reach branch goals, run monthly and quarterly 1:1s, and track team performance and quality metrics.
  • Support lending. Get familiar with our consumer loan products ; take applications, help close approved loans, and guide members through the process.
  • Solve problems. Serve as an escalation point for complex member issues, researching account histories and resolving concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Manage risk and operations. Order and balance cash, conduct surprise audits (vaults, drawers, ATM), and oversee ATM maintenance and reconciliation.
  • Help keep the branch secure. Partner with the Branch Manager on opening/closing procedures and building security.
  • Grow the team. Take part in interviews and help identify great new hires.
  • Stay compliant. Follow all credit union policies and applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC requirements.
What You Bring
  • 6 months to 2 years of related experience (banking, credit union, or customer service/sales background preferred)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong communication skills ; comfortable with members and teammates in person, by phone, and by email
  • Comfort with cross‑selling and working toward performance goals
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Willingness to obtain NMLS registration (we'll help you get there)
  • Ability to stay calm, accurate, and professional under pressure and deadlines
