Korn Ferry Group in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a hands-on Golang Cloud Platform Engineer to build production-grade platform services and APIs. You will work on scalable cloud automation and distributed systems in a large enterprise environment.

You will design and implement APIs, deploy in Kubernetes/AWS, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, IaC with Terraform, and containerization with Docker. The role requires at least 5 years of relevant experience and strong Go development skills.

Golang Cloud Platform Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Golang Cloud Platform Engineer to join a cloud platform engineering team responsible for developing scalable services that enable public-cloud adoption across a large enterprise environment.

Position Overview

This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on building APIs, platform services and cloud automation. The ideal candidate is a strong Golang developer with production API development experience and exposure to AWS, Kubernetes and modern Infrastructure-as-Code practices.

This is not a Kubernetes administration position. The focus is on developing the services and automation that run on the cloud platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain production-grade platform services and APIs using Golang.
• Build cloud services designed to support large numbers of users and concurrent requests.
• Develop and enhance APIs used by developers across the organization.
• Build infrastructure automation using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Develop services deployed within Kubernetes / AWS EKS environments.
• Design services that address scalability, concurrency, rate limiting and request management.
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines supporting application testing and deployment.
• Containerize applications and services using Docker.
• Develop and support Kubernetes-based services utilizing CRDs and operators.
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to design, build and deliver cloud platform capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Golang (Go).
• Proven experience designing and delivering APIs or backend/platform services in production environments.
• Strong understanding of scalable and distributed service architecture.
• Ability to independently analyze and solve complex engineering problems.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and experience running/deploying services in Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience working with containerized applications and services.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS cloud experience.
• AWS EKS experience.
• Terraform / Infrastructure-as-Code experience.
• Docker.
• Jenkins.
• Kubernetes CRDs and Operators.
• Experience developing cloud infrastructure or internal developer-platform services.
• Familiarity with AWS capabilities such as Lambda, Step Functions, KMS and IAM.

What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will be a developer first: someone who has personally built production services and can clearly explain the engineering decisions behind them. Candidates should be comfortable discussing practical topics such as API scalability, rate limiting, concurrency in Go, correlation across services, CI/CD and production deployment.

The team operates globally, and onsite collaboration in Jersey City is considered particularly valuable when joining and ramping into the environment.
