Cloudflare is seeking a Systems Engineer in Austin to build scalable backend services using Go, with RESTful APIs and internal datastores. You will integrate multiple services via message queues, evaluate third-party and open-source tools, and help design fault-tolerant systems for a globally scalable network.

The role requires strong Unix/Linux expertise, experience with distributed systems, and a track record of delivering production-ready code.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional backend experience at a tech company.
• Proven production-quality coding in Go or willingness to learn Go.
• Experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux development and runtimes.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Track record of delivering well-tested, production-ready code.

Responsabilités

• Build services with RESTful APIs and their own datastores using Go and other languages.
• Integrate services via message queues and evaluate tools (3rd party/open source).
• Design and implement alerts and runbooks; act as escalation point for ops.
• Review legacy code and migrate logic to modern services architecture.
