Job summary

Xona Space is seeking a GNSS engineer to conduct deep-dive analyses and live-sky demonstrations for Pulsar-based PNT. You will work independently and with a team to deliver mission-critical insights, spanning theory and hands-on GNSS applications.

The role emphasizes publishing technical documents, developing measurement and position engines, and collaborating on state-of-the-art GNSS research in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with theoretical analysis of GNSS performance in various environments using Python, C, C++, or MATLAB.
  • Availability to support occasional rapid-turnaround technical assessments.
  • 4+ years of GNSS experience.
  • Master's or PhD in a relevant field; strong academic background.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and conducting live-sky test campaigns to showcase Pulsar capabilities.
  • Assisting the execution of time-sensitive novel LEO-PNT analyses to support company objectives.
  • Preparing technical resources and materials related to Pulsar-based PNT.
  • Contributing to white papers, internal reports, and technical documentation with detailed GNSS analysis.

Xona is seeking an analytical and self-driven GNSS engineer with a passion for solving technically complex problems in satellite navigation. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, research-heavy environments, and can confidently work independently and collaboratively to deliver mission-critical insights. As a member of the product team, the chosen candidate will be expected to conduct deep-dive analyses on cutting-edge timing and positioning systems, participating in live-sky demonstrations as well as analytical and theoretical studies involving topics related to LEO-PNT and its wide range of applications- from reliable timing for critical infrastructure to battery power optimization on IoT/handheld devices. Key Responsibilities Include:

Requirements:
  • Experience with theoretical analysis of GNSS performance in various environments using Python, C, C++, or MATLAB.

  • Availability to support occasional rapid-turnaround technical assessments.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant field.

  • 4+ years of experience working in GNSS.

  • Experience with the practical use of Linux-based systems.

  • Experience writing and presenting technical content to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Prior experience with GNSS timing and UTC traceability.

  • Experience with precision GNSS corrections modeling and application.

  • A demonstrated ability to work independently on targeted research projects.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to collaborate.

  • Experience with hardware testing, including field testing and GNSS simulators.

To comply with U.K. regulations, this role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks, and successful candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

For Canada Roles:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
