Job summary

Stratolaunch is seeking a subject matter expert in Guidance Navigation and Controls (GNC) to join the Technical Staff in Engineering. The successful candidate will lead GNC disciplines from theory to hardware and drive strategic capability development at Stratolaunch.

You will influence architectures, lead high-impact problem solving, and mentor junior engineers while engaging with customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience deriving and implementing GNC architectures.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in complex programs.
• Ability to solve multi-disciplinary engineering problems with analytical rigor.
• Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards and security clearances.
• Strong communication and customer interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-level technical discipline leadership in GNC from theory to hardware.
• Create standards, best practices, and common toolchains across GNC domains.
• Lead problem-solving teams for high-impact challenges and risk reduction.
• Develop and maintain capability roadmaps and realization plans.
• Lead and sponsor IRAD projects to enable future business growth.
• Support recruitment and mentoring of junior staff.
