Job summary

Rocket Lab USA is seeking a GNC Intern at our Littleton, Colorado site for a 12-week, full-time on-site internship. You will support development of guidance, navigation and control algorithms for flight software, working closely with mentors and engineers to meet mission requirements.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration across teams, and hands-on experience with aerospace control systems. A relocation stipend may be available, and ITAR considerations apply for US operations.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, Mechanical Engineering or related field with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab, and personal/team projects applicable).

• Collaborate in a fast-paced group to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.
• Attend regular 1:1s to monitor progress and learning outcomes.

As aGNCIntern based at Rocket Lab's site in Littleton, Colorado, you will have the opportunity tosupport theteam withdeveloping or enhancing GNC algorithms in flight software to meet mission requirements.The Guidance, Navigation, and Controlsteamworks with allfacetsof the engineering life cycle: from spacecraft concept and algorithm development to flight software implementation.

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE

• GPA of 3.5 or above
• 6+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)
• Understandingof control systems
• Knowledge of simulation and analysis tools
• ProficiencyinPython
• MATLAB experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027

COMPENSATION AND OTHER BENEFITS

• Pay Range CA: $27.00 USD Hourly
• You may be eligible for a stipend to subsidize relocation costs

Base Pay Range (CO Only)

$27-$27 USD

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Base salary is only one part of Rocket Lab's compensation package for this role.
