Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking GNC Engineers for the Starfall program in Hawthorne. You will contribute production-grade GNC software in C++ or Python, participate in reviews, and analyze flight data to improve guidance, navigation and control.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in a related field and have 1+ years of software experience in C++ or Python; advanced degrees are a plus. The role involves complex trajectory optimization, atmospheric entry, and precision landings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace, physics or an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of software development experience in C++ or Python.
• Masters/PhD in engineering or physics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable GNC algorithms, simulations, tools, services, and dashboards in C++ or Python.
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
• Analyze large flight and simulation data to assess performance.
• Document programs, algorithms, or analyses in technical detail.
• Design trajectories, guidance, and optimization for entry capsules.
• Develop atmospheric entry, descent, and landing (EDL) algorithms.
• Improve state estimation and precision navigation for reentry and recovery.
• Coordinate multiple vehicles for logistics delivery and recovery.
