Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth is offering a Graduate Nurse Residency Program for new graduate RNs. The February 2027 cohort will begin on February 22, 2027, with a 15-month employment commitment.
The program includes guided clinical experiences, mentoring, and 360-degree evaluations. Residents will be assigned to the Surgical Trauma/Burn PCU, with full-time, (3) 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends/holidays, plus on-call shifts as needed.

Integrated into a Hospital’s education structure, the Texas Health Graduate Nurse Residency Program includes a guided clinical experience with an instructor‑led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, informative debriefing/self‑care sessions and supportive 360‑degree evaluations. Residents not only participate in the learning experience on their personally selected home units, but they also rotate/cross train through other departments to gain an expanded nursing experience vital to the complex patient care.
The Texas Health Nurse Residency Program is a comprehensive, evidence based on‑boarding program with a 15‑month employment commitment that offers new graduate nurses an exciting opportunity to gain the experience, judgment, skills and confidence to successfully navigate the complexity of hospital life.
The Surgical Trauma Progressive Care Unit provides care to a patient population with trauma related injuries and pre‑ and post‑surgical patients requiring specialized monitoring and interventions. STPCUs scope of practice includes but is not limited to: care for patients sustaining sudden multi‑system injuries; including blunt and/or penetrating trauma injuries, continuous cardiac monitoring, management of chest tubes, wound/skin care, titration of insulin drips for patients with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) diagnosis, respiratory compromised patients that require specialized equipment including continuous respiratory interventions, and tracheostomy care, multi‑system organ failure, respiratory distress, sepsis, hematology, GI Bleeds, Renal/Liver Failure, Acid-Base and Electrolyte Imbalances, and cardiac abnormalities.
