Job summary

Mclaurin Aerospace invites a GN&C Engineer to join our NASA Johnson Space Center at Houston, TX. You will develop and test GN&C flight software, evaluate algorithms, and contribute to safety-critical systems used in space exploration.

Ideal candidates have strong C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink experience, and a track record in GN&C design, validation, and integration. U.S. citizenship and security eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area.
• Significant knowledge of GN&C
• Experience with development and analysis of 6 DOF algorithms and simulations
• Proficiency with C/C++ and Python
• Familiarity with validation and verification of GN&C algorithms and requirements
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various contractor employees

GN&C Engineer to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

If selected you will:

• Develop and evaluate safety-critical flight software

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in engineering and 3 years or more of experience in the field or in a related area; or a PhD. in engineering or in a related field
• Significant experience with C, C++, and Python
• Significant experience with MATLAB including Simulink, Stateflow, and Autocode
• Safety and flight-critical embedded software development
• Experience with source code control and continuous integrationAgile software development
• Experience in the following flight software specialty areas:
  • GN&C software development
  • Software process and procedure development
  • Software Integration and Build Management
• Experience with Kalman filters, Neural Networks, UDU factorization and/or advanced smoothers
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning
• Experience with TRICK/JEOD simulation architecture
