Tolmar is seeking a skilled machinist in Windsor, Colorado to support manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering through manual machining, fabrication, welding, and custom part creation in a GMP environment.

You will use manual lathes, mills, drills, and welding equipment to design, repair, and modify components, ensuring reliability and efficiency across production processes. Candidates should have six years of related experience and strong problem solving in a regulated setting.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in manual machining, maintenance machining, fabrication, toolmaking, equipment repair, or a closely related industrial trade.
• Experience operating manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, saws, and other manual machine shop equipment.
• Experience fabricating, repairing, modifying, and rebuilding mechanical parts and equipment components.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, and mechanical documentation.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments to manufacture and inspect machined components.

Responsabilités

• Perform manual machining and fabrication using lathes, mills, drills, grinders, saws, and welding equipment to support operations.
• Design, fabricate, repair, modify, and rebuild parts using blueprints, drawings, sketches, measurements, or verbal direction.
• Evaluate equipment challenges and determine practical machining or fabrication solutions.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support repairs, modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Reverse-engineer replacement parts when drawings/specs are unavailable.
• Select materials, methods, tooling, tolerances, and fabrication techniques for durable solutions.
• Operate calipers, micrometers, gauges, scales, indicators, and inspection tools.
• Confer with Engineering/Maintenance/Production/Quality/management on improvements.
• Recommend modifications to improve reliability, safety, efficiency, and maintainability.
• Assist Engineering with design concepts, layouts, tooling design, and process improvements.
• Assist with installation, startup, modification, relocation, and validation of equipment.
• Maintain tooling, spare parts inventory, materials, and equipment.
• Train staff on safe use and maintenance of machine shop tools.
• Maintain training records per FDA, cGMP, SOP requirements.
• Establish/maintain records for FDA/cGMP/company standards.
• Maintain shop areas per 5S/safety/housekeeping.
• Participate in hazardous waste training and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
