Job summary

PolyPeptide is seeking a Calibration and Metrology Specialist in Torrance, CA to ensure GMP instruments and systems remain accurate, compliant, and production-ready. The role involves hands-on calibration, routine maintenance, and collaboration with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Laboratory teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of GMP-regulated calibration/metrology experience, strong documentation skills, and familiarity with CMMS and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Metrology, Engineering, Life Sciences or related field.
• 3+ years of calibration/metrology experience in GMP-regulated environment.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, laboratory, utility or facility equipment in regulated setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibrations and routine maintenance on instruments and equipment across manufacturing, laboratory, utility and facility operations.
• Follow calibration schedules, procedures, and GMP documentation requirements.
• Maintain accurate calibration records, certificates, and related documentation per cGMP, ISO, and company standards.
• Troubleshoot instrument performance and calibration-related issues.
• Support investigations for out-of-tolerance or failed calibrations, including root cause analysis and CAPA.
• Coordinate with external vendors for third-party calibrations and repairs.
• Assist with development and improvement of calibration procedures and schedules.
• Support 21 CFR Part 11, FDA, ICH regulatory requirements for instrumentation and metrology systems.
