Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a GMD DevSecOps Engineer to architect, build, and scale the IDDE DevSecOps environment.

You will deploy containerized apps with Kubernetes, automate CI/CD pipelines, and act as IDDE administrator across hybrid clouds (AWS/Azure) while embedding security into pipelines. Requirements include a Master\'s (or Bachelor\'s with extensive experience), Terraform IaC, Kubernetes, and strong security posture with STIG experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree with 20+ years of experience.
• Hands-on Terraform experience for complex IaC deployments.
• Proficient in building, deploying and managing containerized environments with Kubernetes.
• Experience designing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Operational experience in enterprise cloud environments (Azure and AWS).
• Windows Server administration, Windows Active Directory, GPOs, and SCCM.
• Experience in STIG analysis, deployment orchestration, and security/code scanning tools.
• Experience with IDEs such as Coder.
• CompTIA Security+ certification (required).
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect and provision the IDDE DevSecOps environment to enable scalable, repeatable, and version-controlled deployments.
• Deploy, manage, and scale containerized apps using Kubernetes for high availability and resilience.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Act as IDDE system administrator across AWS and Azure hybrid clouds and manage AD and tooling.

GMD DevSecOps Engineer

Contingent upon prime contractor approval

Purpose

• Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a GMD DevSecOps Engineer in Huntsville, AL
• In this role, you will provide critical support to GM's Digital Acquisition & Infrastructure team and primarily be responsible for architecting, building, and scaling the DevSecOps Environment within the Integrated Digital Data Environment (IDDE)

Job Description

• Architect and provision the IDDE DevSecOps environment using Terraform to ensure scalable, repeatable, and version-controlled infrastructure deployments
• Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications and microservices using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and resilience for mission-critical workloads
• Design, implement, and maintain advanced continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD pipelines) to fully automate software building, testing, and deployment processes
• Act as a system administrator within the IDDE across hybrid cloud environments (AWS and Azure). Manage tool deployment, infrastructure configuration, Windows Active Directory, and user account management
• Collaborate with cyber engineers to execute STIG evaluation, analysis, and implementation. Embed automated security and code scanning tools directly into the CI/CD pipelines to ensure high software security standards
• Aid in executing deliverable and release objectives, creating comprehensive product/infrastructure documentation, and managing complex deployment orchestration

Qualifications

• Must have a Master's Degree and at least 12 years relevant experience, or Bachelor's + 20 years experience.
• Must have hands‑on experience using Terraform for complex Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments.
• Must be proficient in building, deploying, and managing containerized environments using Kubernetes.
• Must have demonstrated experience designing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Must have hands‑on operational experience working within enterprise cloud environments, specifically Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Must have proven experience in Windows Server administration, Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• Must have demonstrated experience in STIG analysis, deployment orchestration, and security/code scanning tools.
• Must have prior experience with Integrated Development Environments, such as Coder.
• Must have CompTIA Security+ certification (Required for baseline DoD compliance).
• Must have excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Must have the bility to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Desired Qualifications

• Cloud Certifications: Active professional‑level cloud certifications highly preferred, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert, preferred.
• Container Certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), preferred.
• Advanced familiarity with GitLab for code repositories, pipeline execution, and backlog management, preferred.

Security Requirements

• Must have an Active security clearance (SECRET or above) and the ability to maintain it.

Travel Requirements

• Minimal Travel; 10% or less
