Job summary

Created Solutions is seeking a seasoned GMD DevSecOps Engineer to support the Ground-based Midcourse Defense mission in Huntsville, AL. You will architect, build, and scale the IDDE DevSecOps environment, leveraging Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud tooling across AWS and Azure.

The role requires an Active Secret clearance, a Bachelor’s or higher, and extensive CI/CD experience within a DoD/NASA‑scale setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or bachelor’s degree with 20+ years of relevant experience.
• Active Secret security clearance or higher.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Hands-on Terraform for complex IaC deployments.
• Proficiency building, deploying, and managing containerized environments with Kubernetes.
• Design and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps).
• Operational experience in Azure and AWS cloud environments.
• Windows Server administration, Active Directory, GPOs, SCCM.
• Experience with STIG analysis, deployment orchestration, and security tools.
• Experience with IDEs such as Coder and strong communication/leadership skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic DoD/NASA context.

GMD DevSecOps Engineer

Position Overview

Created Solutions is seeking an experienced, team-oriented GMD DevSecOps Engineer to support the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) mission in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will provide critical support to the GMD Digital Acquisition & Infrastructure team and will be primarily responsible for architecting, building, and scaling the DevSecOps environment within the Integrated Digital Data Environment (IDDE).

What You’ll Be Doing

• Architect and provision the IDDE DevSecOps environment using Terraform to ensure scalable, repeatable, and version-controlled infrastructure deployments.
• Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications and microservices using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and resilience for mission-critical workloads.
• Design, implement, and maintain advanced continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software building, testing, and deployment processes.
• Serve as a system administrator within the IDDE across hybrid cloud environments, including AWS and Azure. Manage tool deployment, infrastructure configuration, Windows Active Directory, and user account management.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers to execute STIG evaluation, analysis, and implementation. Embed automated security and code-scanning tools directly into CI/CD pipelines to maintain high software security standards.
• Support deliverable and release objectives, develop comprehensive product and infrastructure documentation, and manage complex deployment orchestration.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or bachelor’s degree with 20+ years of relevant experience.
• Active Secret security clearance or higher.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Hands-on experience using Terraform for complex Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments.
• Proficiency in building, deploying, and managing containerized environments using Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on operational experience within enterprise cloud environments, specifically Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Proven experience with Windows Server administration, Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• Demonstrated experience with STIG analysis, deployment orchestration, and security/code-scanning tools.
• Experience with Integrated Development Environments such as Coder.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Desired Qualifications

• Cloud Certifications: Active professional-level cloud certifications are highly preferred, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Container Certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
• Advanced familiarity with GitLab for code repositories, pipeline execution, and backlog management.
