Job summary

Bertera Auto Group in Palmer, MA, is seeking a skilled automotive technician to diagnose, repair, and service a variety of GM-equipped vehicles. You will use factory-level diagnostics, perform electrical and mechanical repairs, and communicate findings clearly to service advisors, ensuring quality and safety in a fast-paced shop.

The ideal candidate has proven diagnostic abilities, GM or equivalent training, ASE certifications a plus, and a valid license.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an automotive technician with diagnostic and repair skills.
• GM certification or equivalent manufacturer training preferred or required.
• Ability to work confidently with engine, electrical, brake, suspension, HVAC, and drivability systems.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs.
• Ability to use scan tools, diagnostic software, and repair information.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record may be required.
• ASE certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on vehicles with a focus on GM systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete repairs efficiently while upholding quality and safety standards.
• Use factory service information and diagnostic tools to identify root causes.
• Communicate findings and status to service advisors and team.
• Document work per shop and manufacturer standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Support team productivity and customer-focused shop culture.
